Altia: Learning portal made working more efficient

Altia’s learning portal, Altia Academy, uses Prewise Gimlet™ Learning Portal online tool for administrating face to face and online training events. With the learning portal working at Altia has become more efficient and customers can be served better. Customers have also said that the portal is convenient and easy to use.

Altia Academy, which is Altia’s training service, offers comprehensive and practical coaching services to the hospitality industry professionals and students. This autumn Altia Academy took the Prewise Gimlet™ Learning Portal online tool into use, which is designed for administrating face to face and online training events, to help with the course and student administration as well as distributing training information.

- Our coaching courses’ popularity and demand among our customers have been high and at times we have had challenges to meet the demand, says Altia’s PR & Service Manager Sari Salmela.

- We needed a simple and user-friendly online tool through which we are able to administer the course-registrations, billings etc. conveniently and efficiently, Salmela continues.

Better service for customers

The learning portal provides Altia, in addition to the course administration services, also a wide range of reporting solutions, as well as the opportunity to update and edit the portal’s contents by themselves. For the end-users the service requires only an Internet connection. Besides for the Altia’s course administrators, the portal is also enjoyable for the end-users.

- Users can access courses and enroll them outside the "office times". Registration to the portal, enrolling to the trainings and own course data browsing are now convenient, Salmela says gladly.

- Altia Academy’s Learning Portal allows us to serve better and more effective the individual employees and students in the hospitality industry, Salmela adds.

Altia has communicated the learning portal widely to its HoReCa customers, to industry’s schools and institutions as well as to the industry’s professional media such as bar masters’ association, and the awareness of the portal is starting to be quite good already.

The Portal made the billing process more effective

The learning portal didn’t require any technical changes or implementations to Altia's own systems. Technical implementation was done with the Prewise Gimlet™ LMS system, which is operated from the Prewise hoasting center. Altia Academy’s learning portal was made coherent with the Altia brand and its visual look.

Although the learning portal is only recently taken into use, Salmela has already noticed the difference.

- The portal has made our staff’s activities quicker and more efficient. Of course, at this early stage we may not have had time to take all the portal’s benefits into use, but for example the courses’ billing process is now faster compared to the past, Salmela says.

- Our customers also think that using the portal has been easy and registration to the courses smooth, Salmela adds.
