Prewise and Siam Commercial Bank started collaboration in Thailand
Thailand’s oldest bank Siam Commercial Bank improves its personnel’s training with the Prewise Gimlet LMS.
Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), which started to operate in 1907, has around 20 000 employees and it is Thailand's third largest commercial bank in terms of total assets, deposits and loans. To the tightening competition in the banking industry, SCB decided to react by enhancing the personnel‘s competence with training. Thereby SCB set up a Learning Technology Department two years ago.
The Learning Technology Department has produced many successful training packages for SCB’s large personnel during the past two years. The only concern has been the time consuming programs which they have used. This is why the Learning Technology Department had been looking for a new, more efficient and user-friendly software for its training needs.

Strength in simplicity, rapidity and measurability
Prewise, which opened a new office in Thailand in August 2008, introduced the Prewise Gimlet LMS to Siam Commercial Bank. With this software content production and user administration is simple, and the trainings are convenient to implement online. It is also possible to receive reports from the performances, and with these reports it is easy to compare the accomplished results with the training targets.
- With Prewise Gimlet LMS the training production is considerably faster than before, the implementing and administrating of the training is easier, and what is most important – we get measurable results from the performances. These results are very important when planning the future trainings, and with the results we can improve the personnel’s competence, says Prewise Thailand’s Managing Director Polawat Ouilapan.
Efficient course production for tens of thousands of employees
SCB became interested in Gimlet LMS since with this software the Learning Technology Department could multiply its training production. Furthermore as they have tens of thousands of employees, the online training method was perfect for their needs. SCB and Prewise agreed on a pilot project where SCB leases the Gimlet LMS software until the end of the year 2008. After the pilot period, SCB will evaluate the software’s suitability, and make a decision on the possible long-term partnership with Prewise.
- We installed the Prewise Gimlet LMS to SCB in the beginning of September, and we have trained the Learning Technology Department with its use. The reception has been enthusiastic, since they had been looking for user-friendly software for a long time, Mr. Ouilapan adds.
