Lithuanian business growing
This year has been one of strong growth for UAB Prewise. The company has extended operationally, and staff numbers have increased from 12 at the end of 2004 to 25 currently. As a result, the Lithuanian branch has moved to new premises near the newly opened commercial centre in Vilnius.
Cost-effectiveness and competence
- It is very interesting to work as part of the developing and growing Prewise Group. It gives us ever-new opportunities to grasp openings in business, says UAB Prewise's Managing Director and Partner, Tomas Sakalauskas. Although the Lithuanian economy has grown rapidly in recent years, the general cost level is substantially below that of Finland or the other EU Member States.
- The current differences in economic development give us a significant competitive edge on Finnish operators. We are able to offer extremely high-quality technology services at substantially lower cost”, says Mr Sakalauskas.
- Because local business is still too undeveloped to take advantage of the core products offered by Prewise, we are focusing mainly on selling technology services to other companies in the Prewise Group. There is growing demand for our competence in the production of customer relation projects and in technical implementation.
Adopting new technologies
UAB Prewise employs young Flash and production wizards as well as software architects with longer track records. Microsoft tools comprise the main production environment in the .NET world, while Flash and XHTML are required in web production. Flash Lite and Symbian programming, which are required in mobile learning, is a new application area currently being adopted at UAB Prewise.
Prewise is ready to enter new markets
- Cooperation with Prewise Finland works really well. The basic workload that the collaboration has given us is a good platform for further developing our business base. The challenge for 2007 will be to sell larger projects locally in Lithuania as well as to nurture the positive openings in Germany and Finland to turn them into permanent customer relationships, says Tomas Sakalauskas.
Next year, Prewise will start marketing its strategic core services further afield in Lithuania and in other neighbouring areas.
- We will be progressing in a measured but systematic fashion, says the CEO of Prewise Group, Iiro Pohjanoksa. The development and documentation of Prewise’s services and processes have now reached a stage where distribution of the concept at the international level makes sense.
- The experiences that we have gained in Finland this year as well as those from our international pilot projects clearly show that our concept is an effective one as well as being unique in the field of e-learning. This provides a good basis for further development in Vilnius, as well”, explains Mr Pohjanoksa.
