Retail company Central Pattana strengthens the communication of its values with e-learning

Central Pattana (CPN), Thailand’s leading developer, manager and investor of retail and commercial properties, wanted to communicate the company’s core values and corporate governance to its personnel. The company chose online training for its fresh approach, time saving and flexibility.

During the past years CPN has grown significantly and many new employees have joined CPN’s competent work force. Thus CPN felt that it would be a good time to communicate its core values and corporate governance to its personnel so that everybody would live with the same values.

The Core Values e-learning course was designed in collaboration by using Prewise’s expertise in online training production and CPN’s knowledge in their organization. The technical implementation was done with the Prewise Gimlet LMS system. Prewise was responsible for the e-learning’s production, the training process’ administration and the results’ reporting, and CPN’s task was to give the content, and the idea and theme for each exercise.

E-learning like customer

The Core Values training was the first project with CPN and relatively straightforward since CPN knew right from the start what they wanted to teach and which approach would bring best results in their organization.

Since CPN is well known for its interesting, stylish and fresh concepts; the training needed to follow this style too. The core values and corporate governance were taught in a fun and interesting way: the course consisted of many different quizzes and games with attractive visual effects.

- The game-based activity requirements were an exciting challenge for our development team and generated a lot of creative ideas. It also helped our team to further explore the many possibilities of Prewise Gimlet™ LMS, says Prewise Thailand’s Managing Director Mr. Polawat Ouilapan.

Interactivity and flexibility charmed

The training’s pilot phase is now over and the actual launch is on hand. The target group for the training is the whole CPN staff, around 2500 employees. The pilot group consisted of 46 employees who studied the online course and gave feedback.

E-learning is a new training method for CPN but the response in pilot group was all positive.

- Many participants said that the e-learning was a fun way to learn and that the training’s interactivity made learning interesting, says Senior Manager in Strategic Organizational Development Ms. Araya Charoenkul.

- Participants were also pleased that they could do the course where- and whenever they wanted, she continues.

E-learning is a cost-efficient and fast way for CPN to train a large group of people, especially because the group is dispersed to different branches. With Prewise Gimlet™ LMS it is easy to follow up the progress and comprehension of the training.

Efficient communication is a key to good co-operation

Good communication is the key for a successful collaboration. It is important to maintain a tight communication to minimize misunderstandings and insure that no unnecessary work is done.

- We liked Prewise’s style of communication by regularly contacting us and not the other way around, since we are often so busy. We really appreciated Prewise’s adaptability to our tight schedules and overall flexibility, says Ms. Charoenkul.

- We are very pleased with the course’s outcome. We will definitely use e-learning in the future and we are already planning the next project with Prewise, says Ms. Charoenkul.
