The employees can influence on their work description’s development
Senior Software Architect Pasi Selkama is a long-term Prewise employee. The technology expert is fascinated by the daily problem-solving and learning new things. The employer’s trust, good working ambiance and the possibility to develop his own job description are the key matters for him to enjoy his work.
In a good work place the employees are encouraged to evolve and develop themselves. The employees trust each other and each other’s work as well as to their employer. A good employer also shows its trust for its employees.
What do you expect from your employer?
I expect my employer to offer a safe working environment, work assignments which are challenging enough and a competitive salary. The employer has to be flexible as well, and to advance an open working atmosphere. These expectations are well met at Prewise.
- Prewise supports the consolidation of work and free time in the different stages of its employees’ lives in a great way. We have a flexible working time and the employees also have the possibility for remote work if necessary. I am an example of this since my family moved away from Helsinki last summer after which I started to work remotely. The change has happened flexibly and without problems.
Your typical workday?
- I design software and service architectures and technical implementations, and I implement them. At the moment my work is divided quite equally between customer projects and different development projects. In addition to these I also work as a Prewise Quality Manager.
- My typical workday consists of project work; and communication and support relating to different projects and clients.
What do you like the most in your job?
- Problem-solving and learning something new. And there is no shortage of these when working with technology.
What kind of colleagues you get at Prewise?
- Excellent of course, hard-working and trustworthy specialists. I have worked for Prewise since its establishment already, so from 2004. With some of the colleagues we have work history together for more than a decade already.
What have you discovered from yourself during the years at Prewise?
- The days when I wouldn’t learn something new, are scarce. And as I’m having sufficient amount of working years already, I have also self-confidence and belief in my talents.
- All this time when I have worked for Prewise, my job description has been pretty much the same. But you can always influence to your work by presenting your wishes to the supervisors in the development assessments for example.
What motivates you to give your best contribution to work?
- The feeling of success in your job, and both the clients’ and your co-workers’ respect to your work. I wish this year brings once again many interesting projects and lots of new clients.
